Spotlight on our Chapel Camp
Posted on by SteveWe look back at last week and our Chapel Camp.
It was a fantastic week of sporting fun and throughout the week, each child, really got stuck into every activity. Whether that was a new sport, a different game in football, or our other activities, such as our wacky competitions and challenges. It’s great to see kids going for it and being rewarded with praise and in some cases prizes as well.
During the week, we had pretty unsettles weather… One minute it was cracking flags, the next, it was like we were in the Amazon rainforest. Come rain or shine the show goes on with PAS, as all of our camp facilities include indoor and outdoor space, which is useful even in these summer months. Although we had to postpone ‘PAS Man’s World Cup Skills Challenge’, we did get chance to run this activity on the final day and even the sun came out to watch the show.
We believe it’s really important to strike a good report with every child, therefore we try to match coaches to camps where many children and coaches know each other. Another super way to create that bond is to run activities where the coaches and children come together, such as our ‘coaches challenge’ leading up to ‘soak the coach’. Every child loves this moment! Their chance to get their own back and see the coach get a real soaking! Unfortunately for coach Alex, this was truly the case. Having stepped out of the zone a couple of times, he had to endure the BIG bucket of water over his head. Fortunately for the kids, this was real entertainment at it’s best!
One other thing many of the coaches commented on was the behaviour and listening skills shown from the kids. It really makes a huge difference when everyone want to listen and means we get to do more games and activities.
Overall it was a fabulous week and we look forward to running another successful camp in October.
