PAS News for July…

We do hope everyone is enjoying this spell of great sporting action… whether you have World Cup fever, been gripped by the Tour de France, enjoyed the ups and downs of Wimbledon, or are still celebrating after the success of Lewis Hamilton’s win at the Silverstone Grand Prix, one thing is for sure… SPORT of all kinds is truly on show this summer! We hope it has encouraged everyone to either sign up to new clubs, try new sports, and generally participate in more sport.

The summer of sport continues even longer with the Glasgow Commonwealth Games starting very soon. Here we will see athletes from across the Commonwealth participating in 17 different sports, which are almost as many as PAS offer. It will be great to see all these different sports being played competitively, and again a huge boost to encourage children into sport.

If your child/children cannot get enough of sport this summer, then PAS has the answer for you… This summer we are running 6 and a half weeks of summer camps, which include 15 ‘Soccer & Multi-Sport’ Holiday Camps at 6 different locations in and around the High Peak area. We also have 2 Adventure Camps running, one being a 4 day residential and the other, a full week of non-residential activities. Overall, that totals 17 different camps, plus we have our Weekend Clubs and Evening Clubs ongoing throughout.

Our programme of ‘Soccer & Multi-Sport’ Holiday Camps can be seen below –

  • Week 1 – Wednesday 23rd July until Friday 25th July @ Glossop & Thursday 24th July until Friday 25th July @ Buxton & Chapel
  • Week 2 – Monday 28th July until Friday 1st August @ Glossop & Disley
  • Week 3 – Monday 4th August until Friday 8th August @ Glossop, Disley & Buxton
  • Week 4 – Monday 11th August until Friday 15th August @ Glossop & Chapel
  • Week 5 – Monday 18th August until Friday 22nd August @ Glossop & Chinley
  • Week 6 – Tuesday 26th August until Friday 29th August @ Glossop & Castleton
  • Week 7 – Monday 1st September until Friday 5th September @ Glossop

For further information on all our summer camps and locations, please click here to find out more about our Summer Camps 2014. Look out also for our flyers/booking forms as they have been supplied to all primary schools, but don’t forget, you can always book any camp using our Online Booking System.

As some of you may be aware, this summer, to celebrate the Brazilian World Cup, we will be running a competition at all our Holiday Camps. Our mascot, PAS Man, has been very busy designing the challenge. Click here to read more about PAS Man’s World Cup Skills Challenge or here to watch our YouTube video.

The first of our two Adventure Camps running in the summer holidays is the 4 day residential, and the second is a full week non-residential. Details and dates are below –

This coming Saturday is a massive weekend of sport for PAS… We have the fifth and final block session of our ‘Little Stars’ programme, which once again has been a super success and will continue again after a short break. We have our Weekend Clubs, plus two birthday parties, one school summer fair, Buxton Carnival for the parade (look out for PAS Man), Hollingworth Juniors football tournament with the Speed Cage and, finally, Charlesworth and Chisworth Carnival where we shall once again be running our Speed Cage competition. What a weekend of sporting action, we hope you are taking part somewhere with PAS!

As discussed, all our Weekend and Evening Clubs will be running throughout the summer period, but we are aware that in most cases participant levels do decrease at this time of the year. This is usually because children are at our camps in the week and therefore want to relax a little at the weekend, and the other main reason is that many children are away on holiday and therefore miss our clubs. However, rather than closing our doors, we believe in offering our service year round… and therefore the clubs below will be running throughout the summer –

We would finally like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has participated with PAS so far this academic year. We hope you have loved our PE lessons, thoroughly enjoyed our lunch-time and after school clubs, and like your summer gifts and prizes! We would also like to wish all year 6 pupils, good luck at their chosen secondary schools.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read our news page, we hope you found it useful.
