10 Years and counting…

Wednesday 13th January 2016 was a very important day for Peak Active Sport… It was on this day that we celebrated 10 years in business, a fantastic achievement for any business in today’s world. Over the years we have work very hard to built up an excellent reputation based on professionalism, reliability and the quality of service provided to our customers.
It was back in January 2006 when myself and Mark formed the company, but prior to that we were involved in the sports sector. I was playing football professionally for Macclesfield Town, then playing in League 2, whilst Mark was making his own tracks, coaching teams at Manchester United Football Club. We met whilst attending a sports coaching seminar and from there a bond was created; however, little did we know what the future would hold. After many discussions, meetings, and brainstorming get-togethers, Peak Active Sport was created. Over the years we have provided top quality sports coaching to schools, youth clubs, sports teams, councils and thousands of kids along the way. Our school-based activities, such as PE lessons, lunchtime sessions and after school clubs are certainly very popular. However, as many will know, we don’t just stop there… Our evening and weekend clubs are also extremely popular, plus our Holiday and Adventure Camps which run every half-term/holiday draw in huge numbers of children, enabling them to further their skills and enhance their personal development. Most recently we have developed new specific programmes, such as ‘Little Sports Stars’ which is aimed at children between the ages of 2-4 years, and also our ‘JungleFit’ programme for Key Stage 2 children, which aims to inspire children to keep fit and eat healthily.
We have also had a huge impact overseas, in both Virginia, USA and Uganda, Africa, where we have sent coaches to coach in a variety of different and challenging settings. We have also been heavily involved with charity work over the years, either running 10 ks, not shaving for 10 weeks, organising sponsored events and even raising £5000 by doing the Three Peaks Challenges to raise funds to build a school in Jinja, Uganda. “It’s been a wonderful journey and the support we’ve had from schools, teachers, parents and kids has been wonderful”, said coach Mark.
Having worked extremely hard over the years, our team is as strong as ever. Many of our coaches have been with the company for several years and play a valuable role in inspiring youngsters in their sporting development. We certainly both acknowledge the importance of staff who work hard and love doing what they do. To have a job where you get so much satisfaction is very rewarding and we all know how lucky we are.
One thing we have never done is standstill, and with this we are always looking for ways to improve and inspire the next generation. We have lots of new ideas on the horizon, and this is important to keep ourselves fresh and interesting. However, it is equally important to consistently provide an excellent service to whomever we are delivering to, and this is something we shall continue to do. Here’s to the future!
