PAS and St. Andrew’s Primary School

Posted on by Steve

As you may know, we have been fundraising for ‘AGAPAO International’ for several years now. We do lots of personal and company fundraisers, but we also run a lot of educational fundraising days at primary schools in and around the High Peak.

Most recently we ran our ‘African Skills Day’ at St. Andrew’s Primary School, in Hadfield. The day was all about learning new games with limited equipment and using our imagination to come up with fun and exciting games/challenges. Coach Nathan ran the day and also the opening educational assembly. “Everyone wanted to learn about life in Africa, they wanted to understand how different day to day life is and how we can make a difference to someone’s life thousands of miles away” – Coach Nathan, PAS.

PAS raise money to go to local villages in Uganda to help provide standpipes, bringing in fresh water. In 2010 they completed the national ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ and raised over £5,000, which went to building a new school for children in Jinja, Uganda.

Our ‘African Skills Day’ took place at St. Andrew’s Primary School on Friday 24th January. Every child who took part really did a superb job, plus all the staff helped raise the awareness. After the day, children were asked to raise whatever they could, and bring it in for a final assembly. So far the total amount raised is a staggering £760.00!!! Plus we believe some children haven’t stopped fundraising yet!

PAS would like to thank all the staff and children at St. Andrew’s Primary School. Everyone has been fantastic and the amount raised so far is truly unbelievable!
